Before operation
Consultation
Dr Chuah will first have a consultation with you to discuss your options, manage expectations, answer your questions, and determine if further tests are needed prior to a surgery.
Tests (when required)
If further tests are required, these will be booked in and completed. This may include an endoscopy or similar testing.
Review by medical specialists
There will be a review of your case by Dr Chuah and other medical specialists.
Preparation
- You will then prepare mentally and physically;
- You may have to start your pre-operation diet, with the help of a dietitian
Day of surgery
- You’ll arrive at the hospital at the time assigned.
- You should receive information on what to bring to hospital, and any other specific preparation tips for your procedure.
- Surgery will then be performed, followed by a hospital stay.
Post-operative care
- You will be looked after by trained nurses.
- You will have daily surgical, physiotherapy, and dietitian reviews.
- Post-operative steps will begin, and you would have received information and steps for your day-after-operation process, before coming to hospital.
Ongoing care
- Your reviews will be dependant on the type of surgery
